Sponsored Sky Dive For Heart Link
When five members of our staff who have, until now, appeared perfectly sane, volunteered to jump out of a plane with only a parachute and an instructor for company we thought they were mad. However when they said they would be raising money for a local charity in the process, we soon changed our minds.
So after one false start, when the skydive was postponed due to bad weather, Natalie Dudley, Darren Buttery, Lesley Frost, Steven Grew and Katie Warren finally gathered together at Langar Airfield, Nottingham, on 7 August 2007, ready to take to the skies to raise money for Heart Link, the East Midlands Children's Heart Care Association.
After a final briefing and a few tricky moments as they squeezed themselves into their skydive suits, they were ready for the off. As you can see from the photo of them below proudly holding their certificates, all five completed the skydive successfully (and safely!) and amazingly they all said they would do it again!
If you were one of the very kind people who said they would sponsor our skydive team, and you have not already sent your donation, please send a cheque made payable to Greenhalgh & Co to your local Greenhalgh & Co Office. If you are a tax paying individual then please don’t forget to tell us to ‘Gift Aid’ your donation, which means that for every pound you give, an extra 28 pence will go to Heart Link.
Heart Link is based at the Glenfield Hospital in Leicester and provides support to parents of children with congenital heart conditions. You can find out more about the organisation at www.heartlink-glenfield.org.uk.
